Description

Origin
The Ficus microcarpa ‘Ginseng’ belongs to the Moraceae family and has its roots in Southeast Asia and Australia. The plant has been nicknamed ‘Ginseng’ because the shape of its branches resemble the famous ginseng roots. This Ficus was originally a large tree and has been cultivated into a small indoor plant through special growing techniques.

Characteristics
The Ficus microcarpa ‘Ginseng’ is an evergreen, small indoor plant known for its striking, thick trunk. The thick trunk ends in dark green, oval leaves. The leaves stay green throughout the year and do not fall off in the autumn. The plant grows relatively slowly and reaches a height of up to 1 meter.

Care
The Ficus microcarpa ‘Ginseng’ prefers a light position, but cannot tolerate direct sunlight. The plant has a moderate need for water, with it being important that the soil can dry out between watering to prevent root rot.
